Our Origin

The Story
Behind A.M.A

"We became mothers and suddenly understood deeply, in our bones what it means to need a village."

A.M.A Postpartum Care was born from a personal truth: the postpartum period can be one of the most overwhelming, vulnerable, and beautiful seasons of a woman's life and far too many mothers face it without the support they deserve.

In many African cultures, a new mother is never left alone. She is cooked for, bathed, massaged, and surrounded by women who have walked the same path. She is given permission even instruction to simply rest and heal. A.M.A exists to honour that tradition and bring it into the homes of mothers across the Greater Toronto Area.

We started small, with deep care and a clear conviction: that every mother regardless of where she comes from deserves to be held while she heals. That belief is still at the centre of everything we do today.

A Mother's

Every decision, every visit, every care plan begins with the mother at the centre. Her healing, her culture, her pace always the starting point.

What Guides Us

Our Core Values

Everything we do every care plan, every home visit, every follow up call is shaped by these four commitments to the mothers we serve.

01
Cultural Honour

We don't just accommodate your culture we celebrate it. Your traditions, your food, your rituals are woven into every visit. We believe that feeling understood is the foundation of real healing.

02
You Come First

In a world that rushes new mothers back to "normal," we slow everything down. Your body, your heart, your rest treated as the most important things in the room. Because they are.

03
Warmth & Excellence Together

Warmth without skill is not care and skill without warmth is not enough. Every A.M.A specialist is certified, experienced, and genuinely invested in you. You get both, always.

04
We Stay

We don't disappear when the shift ends. We follow up. We check in. We notice the things you might not say out loud. Our care continues long after we've left your door.

Our
Mission

To ensure that every mother in the Greater Toronto Area regardless of her background has access to warm, expert, culturally rooted postpartum care that honours her body, her heritage, and her healing.

"Every mother deserves to be mothered after she gives birth held, nourished, and surrounded by love while she finds her footing."
